The Residence Baron ****" is located in the real heart of the Budapest Downtown, at the end of the Váci street and Fővám Square corner, offering four-star hotel services, houses in a beautifully restored building which was constructed in one of the most prosperous period in the history of Budapest, in the 1870s.

The original building is totally refurbished, the exterior and interior decoration preserves the splendour of the original romantic and secession style, combining it with the modern infrastructure, services and the conveniences of today.

 

 

The Baron Mattencloit family was the owner of the building till the end of the second world war. Members of this family were relatives of Miklós Vitéz Horthy de Nagybánya, who was the Governor of Hungary at that time. His syster in low, Margit Purgly was accomodated in this palace for years. For the commemoration of this historical relation was selected the name of the hotel "Residence Baron"

The hotel awaits guests with 26 elegantly furnished and well equipped rooms, one suite, a number of culinary, comfort and medical services, and a conference room for 20 persons.
